What is the fastest way to change into a well-paid profession?

Some time ago, we took part in a webinar organized by Goldenline. The theme was broadly about development but the most common thread that ran through our meeting was: changing jobs.

You asked what a well-paid profession is the fastest way to change. In this post, we want to deepen this thread.

So what’s the deal with this changing jobs? What profession should I choose to do this as quickly as possible?

There is no clear answer to this question. However, there is an important issue: it will be the fastest and most pleasant to transform into a profession that will be consistent with you, your personality, character traits and, above all, values. For example, I cannot imagine myself as a programmer, since contact with another person is crucial to me, issues related to interpersonal relations, communication, even though strictly scientific, mathematical topics also came to me very easily. It was easy for me, but in the long run it would be very tedious. I wouldn’t find myself in this.

One thing is certain… a change is a necessity…

I will also cite the results of the study of 3 leading institutions: Pearson, Nesta and Oxford Martin School, who created the 2030 Skills Report.

According to their research, 10% of people perform professions for which the demand will increase in the near future, 70% perform a profession that will exist, but nevertheless the way of performing duties will change, and 20% have mechanical/repetitive work, which will probably be replaced by robots.

This shows that changing profession in many areas is only a matter of time.

What professions/industries are worth observing?

Consciously shaping your career path is the basis and the first step. And now a few tips on what professions are worth considering, because they are in an upward trend:

  1. Organizational Change Manager, i.e. a person supporting the adaptation of technological solutions, assimilation of changes that organizations go through.
  2. All roles related to E-commerce, because the pandemic itself showed that online trade is on an upward trend.
  3. Looking at demographics, all the roles related to care and services for the elderly.
  4. The market also needs software developers and testers as standard, of course, and non-technical people can try their hand at Scrum Master roles.

What roles would you add to those that are future-proof?
